Program:
(Unfortunately, the scheduled speaker was a no show but never fear, President Mark had a backup plan)
Past President Scott Putnicki presented a “Who Am I”
Scott is from Texas, has been married to Pam for 49 years (congratulations Scott & Pam) and have 3 sons and two 9-year-old granddaughters. His career began in media and quickly move to newspapers where he took a job at the El Paso Times working in the advertising department as their retail manager. After a short time, he was relocated to Sioux Falls, SD where he was the advertising director for 3 or 4 years, then moved to upstate New York and went to work for a larger newspaper. After 27 years Scott decided to get out of newspapers and took a job at a small organization called Howard Publications in Chicago. After a year, a great opportunity came his way to move to Oceanside, Ca to take a newspaper job at the Blade Citizen and eventually they acquired the Escondido Times Advocate that now is the North County Times and Scott was asked to move to Escondido to work there as an advertising director. After many years at the North County Times, he decided to leave the newspaper industry for good and stop relocating & got help from our very own George Beitner to open a printing & sign shop in Temecula for approximately 15 years and sold the business, got their kids through high school and college and eventually retired about 5 years ago. All the family is doing very well, their sons have very good jobs and since Scott is retired, he plays a lot of golf and sometimes attends a rotary meeting. He has been in rotary since 1982 in El Paso, TX and ended up at the ESR club and was president of our club 2002-2003. The president after Scott was George Beitner.
He answered many questions and did a great job being asked to speak with no preparation. Thank you, Scott, for sharing your life and story with us!!
