High Fives:

President elect-elect Chris Miller took several minutes out of the meeting for a High 5 where he plugged a golf tournament fund raiser at Woods Valley for his daughter’s Valley Center HS golf event. If you are interested in attending please contact Chris. Chris also graciously paid a $100 fine for the lengthy commercial message. 

 

Program:

Our program was presented by Jim Odom, Manager of Educational Television (ETV) and KKSM Radio Operations at Palomar College. 

 

Jim spoke about the mission of the ETV was to serve the college faculty, staff and students through the creation and the use of media-rich content. He brought us three excellent videos of examples of their work: There was a story about Joshua Tree National Park and the affect of Los Angeles air pollution on the Joshua trees; the future of the Salton Sea, and the Looming Water Crisis in Southern California. The Palomar program has had a great deal of success winning 20 regional Emmy awards in recent years….
