President Dave led both meetings…
Past President Tony Criss led the pledge to our nation’s flag… And Past President Jack Anderson offered the invocation…
The meeting began with a replacement bell; President Dave’s precious bell was stolen, and he has a family heirloom replacement that was his father’s when he presided over his Rotary Club…
It seems the Prez’s bell was bell-napped… There may be a revelation as to the guilty party later in this newsletter… Meanwhile, President Dave brought his own ball errr, bell to the ‘ball game’…

High Fives:
Past President Alan Miller returned from his fun time in Las Vegas with a gift of a half-empty beer glass (or is it half full??) and some Alien Jerky…
President Dave announced that the Club was donating $500 to support the victims of the Paradise Fire… Any member wishing to add to the gift can bring a check to Past President/Treasurer Bob, or notify him to put it on your tab…
The President also announced the National MS Society Dinner on November 17; Past Presidents Rich Aeling, Jim Ponder and Jeff Johnson will represent Escondido Sunrise as we present the Society a check for $25,000; proceeds from our awesome charitable efforts through the successful Grape Day 5K event…
Past President Rich Aeling traveled to Seattle with Past President George Beitner to watch the LA Chargers play the Seahawks… They returned with some goodies from the Pike Place Public Market…
And…. drumroll please… Past President Rich somehow found the missing President’s Official Rotary Bell… Seems Mrs. President Kathy paid a visit to the Aellot Business and discovered the bell proudly displayed on Rich’s desk… Rich, “hide the Bell is the order of the day”….

Past President John Boyce returned from the Maryland Eastern Shore where he was ‘chasing and calling’ ducks and geese… He brought the President some Eastern Shore Brewery liquid… but only one of the six cans survived the return trip…
The final High Five of the day was Past President Jack Anderson bringing some goodies from his trip to Iowa; a jigger from Templeton Rye and a mini bat-pen from the Field of Dreams…
Program:
Past President Mark Hoekstra presented today’s program on the topic of re-branding one’s business. Mark and his Heritage Group commercial real estate company decided it was time to change their image… A name that represents the diversity of the business services they provide…

Mark described the process they undertook, exclaiming that it’s more than just changing your company’s name. Significant amounts of time was used to gather data on who, what and how? they do business, and to determine what perceptions there are of the company… Along with the data to consider in a company’s branding, your effort is to identify the company’s personality, expression and alignment…
And, as Mark shared… to keep your sign maker busy… Right Past President George?? The process also involved domain name selection, trademarking and all kinds of other fun stuff…
Mark’s company is now called “Intersection” … And identified by the tag line, “Driven by Integrity.” Their website is www.intersectioncre.com…
