Alan came to tell us about the Escondido Police Athletic League’s “ Keeping ’em off the Streets” Basketball game on Aug 11th. The event will be held at the Escondido East Valley Community Center. Alan gave the club 10 tickets for our support of the Escondido Police Athletic League.

Program:
Our program today had two parts…
Ralph Tavares did a “Who am I now” Ralph is from Brazil and pointed to somewhere on the map. He is the owner of R&S Tavares Associates, an engineering firm specializing in modular buildings and traveling the world working on many projects. He was in Finland and told us about a Marriott with 21 floors of modular build out. He has 3 grandchildren, lives here in Escondido. He finished with asking if anyone had any questions and Mike O’Malley asked what?
Our main speaker was Paulo Costa. Paulo is a member of the La Mesa Sunrise Club and was speaking about an international project in Bahia, Brazil. The project is for the Quingoma School. The school is in a very poor area and serves about 80 low income families. They provide 4 meals per day to about 110 children. The children are 2-3 year olds in day care and 4-5 year olds in preschool.
La Mesa Sunrise is working to raise enough money to supply the new kitchen with appliances, equipment and utensils. Escondido Sunrise offered to help with a donation of $500.
