Past President Jack Anderson introduces our featured speakers, Dan Meyer and Elmer Heap for an EDI Recycling Plant  update
EDI's update comprised of 3 main parts

1. Roll out
2. Compliance
3.  Enforcement.

Dan Meyer and Elmer Heap were quick to encourage the club by saying that behavior change takes time. But at the same time, making it easy for residents and business owners is the key to adoption and compliance with the state mandates. EDCO is working hard with the city, residents and the business community to ensure overall sucess.

The goal is to get organic waste out of the trash and into EDIs anaerobic digester. The digester breaks down the organic waste and turns it into gas, solids, and liquids that are being re-purposed.
  • The methane being produced is repurposed to fuel the trucks. This saves time and money as the trucks only need one fill up a day, compared to 2-3 fill ups of diesel fuel.
  • The solids are transported up to Temecula and turned into mulch, sold, and distributed.
