Program:

Girls on the Run San Diego was shared with us by Kasey MacNair, Executive Director…

The program has served over 8,000 girls in 3rd — 8th grades with participants being served throughout San Diego County.

The girls train at their schools in teams of 8-20 girls; participants pay a fee based on a sliding scale with each girl receiving a new pair of running shoes… There are 40-50 teams participating each season and their fall and spring seasons culminate with 5K events at the end of each season. Many parents and teachers are involved as coaches; this year there are from 2 to 5 teams from Escondido representing different schools.
