Escondido Sunrise Rotary; Meeting to Serve our Community in Person and via Zoom; and “The Grape Day 5K is Up and Running… And, New Members Join to Serve with Escondido Sunrise”…… August 12, 2021

As we all try to conduct our professional pursuits in new ways, it’s appropriate to remind ourselves of who we are as a Serving Organization… Our accomplishments, our fellowship and the reminder of our many successes is valuable as we seek new opportunities to serve…

This edition of the Sunrise Rotary Newsletter will include two weeks worth of meeting news… As you lowly editor was on vacation…

 

President Richard opened the meeting in our new hybrid format… Many of us in person, a few of us online… 

And, he has his Presidential Bell… His virtual bell was present…

Along with a new speaker with an “ever-seeing” eye for those joining us on Zoom…

 

As a Club, we honored our nation with a salute to our Flag…

 

 

And, an invocation was offered thanking God for the opportunity to gather and serve others as Sunrise Rotarians…

President Richard announced at the Club meeting the possibility of moving to a better meeting room location… In a recent email; he announced our new meeting location as of September 2 will be the Escondido Chamber of Commerce building at 720 N. Broadway…

Grape Day 5K… “10 + 1”… 

Escondido Sunrise is again leading the way in outstanding community events with our (eleventh) read “10 + 1” event on Saturday, October 9…

Past Presidents Jeff Johnson and Jim Ponder shared details…

 

 

 

All of the support we have raised over the years; over $400,000 has benefitted our community and our charitable efforts…

 

 

There are many ways club members can help build success for this event… Each and everyone can raise $500 and enroll 10 participants… At the last meeting; the challenge was laid out “No member has an excuse to not pay the $25 registration fee for the event…” Are you up to the challenge??

 

This year’s fundraising theme is related to the movie “Top Gun”… Four teams including all Club members are working with their Captains, John Boyce, Mike O’Malley, Chris Leso and Rich Aeling…

“Do your share of the lifting”… Soar with the Eagles!!
