Grape Day 5K Update:

Team fundraising results were shown… Keep up the good work for all the teams!!

 

 

Total club fundraising to date is nearly $60,000!! Keep up the effort…

 

 

Past President George Beitner reminded all the members that donors making gifts over $250 will be recognized on a large banner at the Grape Day 5K Event… Everyone should make sure your donors are shown on the sign…

 

Program: 

District 5340 Governor Marta Knight was with us today along with her Chief of Staff, Cheryl Minshew and our regional Assistant Governor, Richard Fogg. Marta shared her personal Rotary history; her grandfather was a founding member of the Mazatlan Club and her Father was a Past President of the Tijuana Club and Past District Governor of District 4100 in Baja California…

District Governor Marta spoke about her father's Rotary experience; twice the District Governor of District 4100… Rotary was a big part of her family life!

 

Marta shared about her ‘Aha’ moments in Rotary, especially when she was on a group study exchange to Ecuador. Marta emphasized that Rotarians are ‘People of Action’ and really are ordinary people doing extra ordinary things…

Marta had some photos of the service projects that Sunrise Rotary completes each year, including our Bike Build with Bikes for Kids, Rotarians at Work Projects, our work with RYLA and our work building houses in Tijuana… Marta commended us for the breadth of our service, both locally, regionally and internationally…

Marta talked about Rotarians as 'ordinary people doing extraordinary things' She chose to recognize one of our own members as a Rotary Superhero...
