Nest week, Assistant Governor Richard Fogg will join us…

A ‘Thank You’ note was received from Fisher House at Camp Pendleton; they appreciate the $1,000 plus worth of supplies that was donated from Escondido Sunrise…

A ‘Thank You’ was also received from the Palomar Family YMCA for the $2,000 gift provided to the ‘Y’ from Escondido Sunrise…

The Prez mentioned that the Palomar College Arboretum groundbreaking was coming later in the week…

President Dave also mentioned that the Art Center event, ‘Dancing with Our Stars’ is set to take place on April 13…

Bill and Debbie Goggin from the Escondido East Club presented the fundraising opportunity their Club is conducting for Mothers Day Flower Baskets. Proceeds will benefit the Police and Fire Cadet programs in Escondido.

The Highway 78 Club is hosting their Mariachi Festival at the California Center for the Arts on April 14… cost is $100 for a VIP reception and the concert; concert only tix are from $25-$50 …

Wednesday May 15 will be an all Escondido Rotary luncheon meeting at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park; lunch and admission to the park is $35… Bring your families…

Program: 

Escondido Arts Partnership; Executive Director Chrisanne Moats was introduced by our own President-Elect, Brian Murphy… A board member of the Arts Parntership. Chrisanne described the various programs and exhibits conducted by the Partnership, while slides were depicting some of the great artwork that is exhibited during the various shows.

Highlighting her presentation was information regarding the upcoming ‘Panache’ event on March 23. Panache is the major fundraising event for the Partnership… Brian and Nancy Murphy are ‘hosting’ the event. A number of donated pieces of art will be auctioned as part of the event, along with wonderful beverages and snacks.

Other exhibits throughout the year include ‘Recycled’ art, ‘Emerging Artists’ with local youth exhibiting, an Art & Science exhibit among others. The annual exhibit program for the Partnership includes 12 exhibitions with over 250 artists sharing their work… Art education programs take place each ‘Second Saturday’ and artists submit their work to juries each 3rd weekend. Gallery hours are Tuesdays, 11-5 and Thursday-Saturday 11-4.

The Partnership also manages the Downtown Farmers Market each Tuesday from 2:30 to Sunset… The Market takes place on Juniper Avenue between Grand and East Valley Parkway…

The program was concluded with Escondido Sunrise Rotary presenting presenting a $2,000 check to the Partnership as part of our support…
