Program:

Jeff Wohler of the San Diego Harbor Police Foundation…Jeff shared with us the mission of the Foundation as it supports the functions of the Harbor Police Department…

Jeff Wohler speaking to Sunrise Rotarians about the multitude of services provided by the San Diego Harbor Police…

Jeff talked about the diverse assignments supported by the Harbor Police, including airport security, marine security on all of the bay front property under the jurisdiction of the Harbor, and firefighting…

Harbor Police Officers undergo significantly varied training regimens as they are brought into the Department.

Much of the work of the Harbor Police involves coordinations with other agencies, both law enforcement and Department of Treasury functions.  Coordination occurs with the Coast Guard, Homeland Security, San Diego Police and other agencies…

In addition to their law enforcement work, the Foundation supports the Police Officers as they reach out to the community; including work with youth through adoption of a local school that serves many at-risk youth… A successful program that was undertaken this year was an outing; “Fish with a Cop”…
